The May 8 event, held at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church in Ankeny, featured a panel discussion on the topic of "Don't Stop Believin': Keeping the Faith Through FOCUS." On the panel were Fr. Mark Owusu of Drake's Newman Center, Fr. Jon Seda of ISU's Catholic Student Center, and Addie Magruder of DCHS's Ut Fidem ministry, along with students striving to keep the faith through the FOCUS model at ISU, Drake, and DCHS.
Founded in February 2011, Man-Up is a Catholic men's fellowship group whose mission is to inspire all men of Central Iowa to be faith-driven leaders in their family, parish, and community.
Man-Up meets in the Des Moines area 4-6 times per year for a meal, presentation, discussion, and fellowship. We sponsor meaningful and heartfelt talks from down-to-earth speakers who are authentic in their faith. In this way, we minister to the entire spectrum of men by motivating those who are young in their faith, and encouraging those who are mature.
Follow Man-Up on Facebook or Twitter @manupdsm, or email any questions you might have to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be sure to tune in to Iowa Catholic Radio for the weekly “Man-Up” radio show, which is hosted by Fr. Zach Kautzky and Joe Stopulos and airs Mondays at 9am and 9pm.
